Tok: The Czechia must not become a white spot on the railway map of Europe
Today, the Czech Minister of Transport Dan Ťok negotiated with his German colleague Alexander Dobrindt on better transport connections between the two countries. Topic one was high-speed (VRT) lines north to Dresden and southwest to Munich. Ťok from its predecessors clearly stipulates the construction of high-speed lines in the Czech lands. According to the Czech minister, the Czech Republic cannot be allowed to become a white spot on the railway map of Europe.
“We insist that high-speed lines pass through the Czech Republic,” said Ťok. In the international context, the first connection is to Dresden, where a tunnel under the Ore Mountains is planned.
“The Federal Minister has invited us to discuss projects that will be included in the federal transport route plan. We are to take part in the preparation of a new high-speed connection between Prague and Dresden, “added Dan Ťok.
But in order for the economy of freight to emerge, it will probably be necessary to count on the so-called drill’s freight transport. This is crucial for the German railway, which already makes extensive use of the lines around the Elbe. The German minister also promised to support the Munich-Pilsen-Prague connection and its inclusion in the federal transport plan.
Dan Ťok wins before his office of Alexander Dobrindt.
According to Ťok, these are strategic things that will materialize in the next twenty years. Nevertheless, the first Czech drill should be the section Prague – Lovosice, which should be caused by 2030. Everything else is, according to official plans, intended for completion by 2050.
However, the Ministry of Transport is also preparing a speed solution for the Brno – Přerov section, but here it will probably reach a speed of 200 kilometers in just one hour. Conventional drilling exceeds 300 kilometers. The solution for Přerov will be discussed in the coming days. Today, Ťok also negotiated with Dobrindt on the navigability of the Elbe. The Germans confirmed that they still count on the river as a full-fledged waterway.

The D8 motorway to Germany will be operational before the end of next year. It will now be possible to go to the Christmas markets in Dresden on the motorway, his Czech counterpart also said after meeting Alexander Dobrindt. Dan Ťok. According to the project, the Dresden or Teplice motorway was to be completed by 2010, but it also faced protests from environmentalists and a later landslide. |
“Before the holidays, the government took all steps to address all administrative obstacles, agreed to a procedure without publication to remove the collapsed slope,” added Ťok. According to him, now there is nothing to prevent the end of next year from being met. The companies that participate in the construction work also promise to meet the deadline, the minister added. |
