Toulouse. Cité Bleue: 15 days with your feet in the water
The situation was resolved on Friday January 27. It was kept long and painful for several residents of the Cité Bleue in Negreneys, who for fifteen days lived with their feet in the water. A problem related to a break in the water pipe following work to bring it up to electrical standards. Dragana, 70, is one of these “disaster-stricken” tenants. For thirty years, this 70-year-old woman has lived in one of the buildings in the Cité Bleue. “My building is one of those in the rehabilitation phase, she explains, exhausted. Since January 14, several rooms, including my bedroom, have been flooded. I spent my time between basins and towels with this constant humidity even though the temperatures were very low. The services of Toulouse Métropole Habitat, the lessor, intervened, of course, but the cause was not eliminated. Here, we already live in a construction site whose nuisances we accept. But there, it was the accommodation that was affected. Private places where one is supposed to feel good”. On another floor, lives Abdoulaï, dad: “We had humidity problems with the tapestry which was peeling off the walls. The services of Toulouse Métropole Habitat thought that the problem came from my house. So they cut off the water hot for five days. You can imagine with children… Especially since the cause did not come from my apartment. Without criticizing them, the TMH services tinkered, groped, they were looking. And we suffered. Including in the parts municipalities also flooded”.
Toulouse Métropole Habitat justifies this situation: “Three dwellings were affected by water damage, explains the lessor. Our services immediately took over management of the problem. At the same time, the tenants were always supported, even temporarily relocated. were made but that of January 27 found and solved the leak. Water damage causes real inconvenience and disrupts the balance of life, especially among elderly tenants. Hence the support provided by our services during this problem at the start of the ‘year’.
