The thesis of school harassment is no longer the one favored by investigators and the Toulouse prosecutor’s office after the terrible gesture of a 13-year-old girl on Saturday evening. Bellefontaine district, she jumped from the 4th floor of her residence. The young girl miraculously comes out of it with both ankles and fractured femur, she is still hospitalized.

Divorce and disappointing school results

A preliminary investigation had been opened because the mother had spoken of school harassment to the police. The first elements would deal rather that Dounia suffered from her family situation. His parents being divorced, the schoolgirl has not seen her father for several years, which she would live very badly. In addition, she would also suffer from her school results, which would not meet her expectations.

At the Michelet college in the city center, where she is in 5th grade, Dounia is described by her comrades as someone smiling, well authorized by his group of friends. The children were warned of this suicide attempt on Monday, the principal and a teacher went to the classes to discuss this gesture without giving further explanation. A support cell is in place with a social worker.

The bullying rumors circulated in the establishment but they are not supported by the 5th graders we met. The young girl is part of the social mix system set up by the Department, which allows hundreds of children from disadvantaged neighborhoods to attend school in establishments located outside these neighborhoods.

At this stage, the prosecution therefore favors the thesis of a call for help linked to the family situation of the teenager.
