Silvia Marchetti is the new ambassador of San Marino in the Republic of Latvia
The credential letters were presented yesterday by the new ambassador of San Marino in the Republic of Latvia, Silvia Marchetti.
Yesterday morning, in the setting of Riga Castle, the ceremony for the presentation of credentials in the hands of the President of the Republic of Latvia, Egils Levits, of theAmbassador of the Republic of San Marino in Latvia, Silvia Marchetti, also accredited in the United Kingdom.
“In a very cordial atmosphere – reports Ambassador Marchetti – we addressed various issues such as cooperation in international forums and the current situation in Ukraine and I also had the opportunity to illustrate the San Marino institutional set-up”.
During the Mission to Riga, the Ambassador met the Secretary of State of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andris Pelšs, with whom common objectives and understandings were shared in the fields of democracy, peace and human rights. It was remarked that this constitutes a solid basis for strengthening cooperation between the two Republics at the bilateral and multilateral level. Ambassador Marchetti was also able to explain San Marino’s commitment to welcoming hundreds of Ukrainian refugees to Secretary of State Pelšs.
On the same day, the ambassador met Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, Deputy Speaker of the Latvian Parliament, and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the UAE Ambassador to Latvia, Hanan Khalfan Al Aleeli.
