FLORENCE — New yellow borders for residents to park
Recent discussions with the residents of the area have led Palazzo Vecchio to reorganize the boundaries of the parking area in the Zcs quadrant of District 5
New organization of residents’ parking that expands for Zcs 5 after the confrontation between citizens and administration.
In recent weeks, the signs have been retraced and, in compliance with the new indications of the Highway Code, the parking spaces for residents are highlighted in yellow, like the other categories of reserved stalls, and identified by vertical signs. The promiscuous stop and the fast rotation stop remain drawn in blue; free parking spaces are blank.
As explained by the Councilor for Mobility at the end of 2022 “With the renovation of the signs in the streets, the parking spaces reserved for residents have been traced with yellow signs. It is a novelty foreseen by the Highway Code to identify the parking space reserved for residents in both ZTL and ZCS in order to avoid misunderstandings. The seats reserved for special categories such as disabled people, police forces and so on will be marked with stylized symbols on the ground as well as by signs”.
The Municipality of Florence also reminds residents that they can also park in mixed parking places and in fast rotation places from 18 to 9 on weekdays. On holidays, parking is free.
