Corruption issue, Luxembourg is back
In the “Transparency International” ranking, the Grand Duchy remains in the TOP10 of the states least sensitive to bribery attempts. The most virtuous country being Denmark.
Every year, International Transparency list the ranking of countries where corruption is more or less problematic. And, at winners 2022, the Grand Duchy has just lost a few points from the NGO (-4). However, with a score of 77/100Luxembourg is still seen as a good student. The country ranks 10th rank among the 180 States rated.
However, for ten years, the country had never obtained such a low score. Without the NGO explaining this since in the end the report does not mention in any way what could have lowered the rating from Luxemburg. The country being part, in his eyes, of the 31 States in the world whose score regressed last year.
For this ranking, International Transparency is based on official data questions from bodies such as the World Bank or the World Economic Forum. Data that does not concern that the public sector.
With a average score of 66/100, Western Europe and EU are once again the highest rated region. Hungary (score of 42), Bulgaria (43) and Romania (45) remaining “black rides” of the continent’s corruption. States of Central or Eastern Europe all the same far from the situations of vulnerability recorded by Tunisia, Suriname (40) or Belarus (39).
Resistance of democracies
It is indeed a European country that prances at the top of this list: Denmark. With the enviable score of 90%. And International Transparency to point out in passing that ” the corresponding countries dstrong institutions and well-functioning democracies often tops the index “.
The France appears in 21st place in the table while the Belgium is not included.
