The arrival of the LGV in Toulouse could be delayed
According to the conclusions of the report of the Infrastructure Orientation Council, analyzed by South Westthe LGV could be postponed for several years and see its European funding called into question.
The construction site of the LGV Bordeaux-Toulouse could be postponed to 2033, according to the daily South West, in an article of January 28. There are detailed the three financing scenarios established by the Infrastructure Orientation Council (COI), in a report submitted to Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne and shared secretly.
The first scenario, estimated at 54.8 billion euros of investment for the current five-year term, would be preferred by the Ministry of Finance, according to South West. The rail works south of Bordeaux and north of Toulouse could be postponed until 2027, while those of the LGV would not start before 2033, writes the daily.
The 2nd scenario, with an estimated cost of 84.3 billion euros, would be favored by the Minister Delegate for Transport, Clément Beaune. He will propose to bring the LGV to Toulouse in 2033. Same deadline for the third scenario, will appear at 98 billion euros and acclaimed by some of the members of the COI, according to our colleagues.
