Kamel, who officiated for more than 40 years behind the Bikini bar, a famous concert hall in Toulouse and then in Ramonville, died last Monday. His funeral will take place on Monday, January 30.
The Le Bikini concert hall, its team and its regulars have had a heavy heart since last Monday. Kamel, the smiling bald and mustachioed fellow who officiated for more than 40 years behind the bar will no longer serve pressure while joking. He left after a final and unequal fight against the disease, which had already struck him a year ago with a stroke, before attacking his back and his body at the end of December, which ended up giving up. .
Fabrice Sansonetto, Hervé’s brother, whose best friend Kamel was, has trouble hiding his emotion and sadness on the phone: “I think back to all those moments of laughter, with his bizarre stories, his relationship with customers , whom he considered his children. During the 40 years of this common journey, we sometimes disagreed, but never argued with each other. It was first a customer, who came every Saturdays with his wife Dominique, so we ended up adopting him, and he went to the other side of the counter! He was really a great guy, a friend…”
“A Sacred Character”
No one will forget his verve and his energy when he served, in a great burst of laughter, his beers before the concerts and the tributes to this historical figure of the Ramonville hall continue to flow on social networks, which say a long time on the respect and the friendship which the occasional ones as the pillars of the Bikini carried to him.
This Bikini which was more than his second home: it is there, remembers Fabrice, that he married, one day in 1998, Dominique, dressed in a pretty suit while Kamel wore a sumptuous wedding dress. . “That was it, Kamel: a sacred character”, found Fabrice.
