– The essential: What is your assessment of the Euro Meet?
Christopher Audot: It’s very nice to reconnect with the swimming event in Luxembourg. We notice that it is on the calendar of many very high level groups. It went pretty well. We are dependent on international competition, but we had A finalists and B finalists. The party was global and we were able to take part in it.
Would you like to insist on some nice surprises?
I find that on their scale, all the swimmers responded with performances, finals, good tactical plans or even ends of races that were really accomplished. In terms of individual performances, I find that the two girls who were present in the relays really gave themselves a hard time (Lou Jaminet and Leeloo Reinesch), it’s great to see. I am also very surprised by the return of João Carneiro who had had a sabbatical year for university reasons and who is back on track.

And then I also want to mention the other finalists A. Julien Henx had a superb final. Max Mannes did a very promising 200m crawl. I see a lot of qualities in a lot of places. There is also Finn (Kemp) who made the minima for the Junior Worlds in the 200m brass. Swimmers have also chosen to do a lot of races like Florian Frippiat, present in the morning and afternoon.
The Euro Meet is a great opportunity for Luxembourg swimmers…
For any coach, in Luxembourg or not, this is an incredible event. People really need to realize that meetings of this magnitude are rare. I only see one, that’s Rome. The Euro Meet is the event of January. It is also a pride to be at home. Having such a competition at home is a double pleasure.
A 3rd day without qualification for an A final
