Nineteen-year-old midfielder Christos Zafeiris is coming to Slavia. The Norwegian youth representative has signed a contract at Eden until June 30, 2027.
“We believe that Christos will be a valid reinforcement for Slavia. He is nineteen years old, he will be able to improve his already interesting football skills with us. We hope that he will follow in the footsteps of Alexander Bah and Aiham Ousou, who have acclimatized perfectly in our environment. We believe that we are getting a typology of a player, a fast and strong midfielder, which will allow the coaching staff to have even more variety when creating their lineups. I want to thank the agent Christos and Hagesund for their demanding but fair dealings,” says Slavia’s sports director
Jiří Bílek.
“My personal goal is to show people that I’m a good player. To show that I can play from the start and be an important team player. The team’s goals are always to try to win, get to the Champions League and play in Europe. Also win the league and the cup. I can’t wait to get started. Slavia is a great club, I’m happy to be here and I’m looking forward to the experience I’ll gain here,” he says after signing a 4.5-year contract Christos Zafeiris.
The 19-year-old Norwegian comes to Slavia from the Norwegian Hauges, which he helped with four goals and five assists to the tenth place in the Eliteserien. He participated in more than a fifth of all the team’s goals and was named Haugesund’s best player for the 2022 season. He was also nominated for the best young player of the season.
The talented midfielder started with football in Panathinaikos Athens, he was born in the capital of Greece. At the age of nine, he and his family moved to Norway, where he matured in football. In January 2020, he transferred from the Vålerengy academy to Grorud, where he started playing regularly in the second Norwegian league. He moved to Haugesund in the summer of 2021, but still finished the season in the second league with Grorud. After the first successful achievement in the Norwegian top competition, he headed to Slavia.
Zafei represents Norway in the under-21 category and you can look forward to the summer EURO, where he will play against Ukraine, Israel and Georgia in the group. He also represented Greece, but only briefly in the under-16 category, otherwise he regularly played for Norway in all categories.
