Six trees will be coppiced, that is to say that they will be cut at ground level to better leave in the form of a shrub, less tall, and more resistant to the wind. Four more will be pruned.
“A significant visual impact”
Stéphane Le Naour, responsible for coastal development within La Carene, the urban community of the Saint-Nazaire region, indicates:
“We keep all the other subjects in good condition, and we will watch the young plants closely in order to control their growth. »
“The cuts will have a significant visual impact, warns Stéphane Cauchy, elected official in charge of the environment. The City services are also very attached to the tamarisks, for their shade, the biodiversity they bring together, the aesthetics of the whole. The coupes are a thoughtful and necessary operation from a health point of view and takes place at the end of January. »
