a team of dog-loving carabinieri from Florence to look for the missing 67-year-old
Still no trace of Rakip Amzov, the 67-year-old Macedonian who disappeared last Monday from Arlena di Castro. Throughout the day yesterday, the carabinieri scoured the rural area north of Montalto, where the man was last filmed by the surveillance cameras of a petrol station on the provincial road 105.
Yesterday’s searches were also attended by the carabinieri of the dog-loving nucleus from Florence, who also raided the area of the photovoltaic parks. The searches also involved some abandoned farmhouses, in the hypothesis that the 67-year-old could have found shelter from the cold of these days. Also on site was a team of firefighters who searched the area near the bridge over the Fiora river, under the walls of the historic center of Montalto di Castro.
Search operations are difficult because the area is very vast, in the open countryside, and from that point it is possible to reach the Viterbo hinterland and Tuscany. Many of the man’s friends and acquaintances who have joined the search since the day of his disappearance, trying to understand which route Rakip Amzov traveled on foot.
The 67-year-old has been missing since January 23 when he left his home in Arlena di Castro at eight in the morning never to return. The same evening he was filmed by surveillance cameras in two places: first in a bar in the city center of Montalto, then at 10.45 pm in a petrol station on the road leading to the Vulci archaeological park. Rakip Amzov is one meter sixty tall, robust build and at the time of his disappearance he was wearing a jacket, a pair of dark-colored trousers and a large backpack on his shoulders.
