Toulouse. The 16th edition of the LGBT+ film festival is open
“Des images aux mots”, a festival presenting LGBT + films, is holding its 16th edition in Toulouse until February 5.
It is in a particular context that this 16 edition of the festival “Des images aux mots” is launched. Defenders and detractors of the LGBTQIA+ cause (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, queer, intersex, asexuals and others, editor’s note) already have their eyes fixed on Toulouse for several days. After the renunciation of the Town Hall of Toulouse to organize a reading workshop by two drag-queens with the children, associations have stepped up, denouncing “censorship”.
The one that did not suffer from any censorship, in any case, is the LGBT + film festival. “From images to words”, or Diam, is held until February 5in various cinemas in Toulouse.
Giving visibility to LGBT+ films
The event offers films from all over the world, most of them unseen in France. Occasionally, these are not distributed and therefore never visible outside of festivals. The festival program is extensivein terms of films but also exhibitions or encounters, always in connection with the LGBT+ cause.
” Enjoy too spaces for dialogue and conviviality where you can meet, lesbians, gays, bi, trans, hetero in a spirit of sharing, curiosity, benevolence “, invites the festival. Many associations will also be present during the event, which will be punctuated by concerts or parties.
After passing through the ABC, American Cosmograph, the Espace des Diversités et de la Laïcité, the Pathé Wilson cinema, the Instituto Cervantes, the Cinémathèque de Toulouse, the Cratère cinema, and the Utopia Borderouge cinema, the festival will leave Toulouse and will leave for other venues in Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The complete program of the festival with venues and times is available online.
