The fierce battle between the players of Sigma and Sparta in the 17th round of FORTUNA:LIGA at the Andro stadium did not recognize a winner. The Spartans took the lead in the 10th minute thanks to Čvančara. But Jan Navrátil equalized in the first half. After the change of sides, no more goals were scored.
The beginning of the match was cautious from both sides, several actions on the Olomouc side were pulled by Mojmír Chytil, but it was far from over. On the other hand, Sparta struck mercilessly right from the first action. Behind the goal, Čvančar had a moment of space and hit it perfectly. Behind Trefil’s back, the ball bounced off the post and into the net.
Then it was played for a long time without chances in the midfield. Sigma tried, but the guests kept her at a distance. Shortly before the half, the Hanás pushed the opponent with a series of corners, but still without success.
The Sigmars were really upset after Sparta’s break, which ended with Haraslín falling in the trap area and a whistled penalty. However, Judge Zelinka dismissed it after consulting the video. He hit the opponent and did not foul, on the contrary, Haraslín received a yellow card.
And that wasn’t all. In the time after Ztracečák’s deflected center, Jan Navrátil found the ball in the territory with a beautiful shot over the head of the goalkeeper Kovář – equalized 1:1.
After the change of sides, the home side were more dangerous. Unfortunately, Breite didn’t hit Navrátil’s back pass the best when trying to shoot, and the weak attempt went wide of the post. The situation looked more dangerous after the offer of the active Russian, first he finished off Ventura and then Zmrzlý, but the Spartans blocked both shots.
The unpleasant situation arose after an innocent clash between Vraštil and Čvančara. The Spartan attacker remained lying on the ground and had to be treated for a long time. Finally, he left the lawn on a stretcher in the care of rescuers.
The home team Sigma tried to push forward even in the last half hour, but the promising events lacked a better finale. Not even Sparta was satisfied with the draw. However, Sadílka produced a shot that was not too sharp, which was covered by Trefil.
In the set-up, both teams tried to take the lead to their side. The closest to the goal was Sparta, but Kamenovič headed only into the bar. In the end, Sigma – Sparta 1:1.
Evaluation of coach Václav Jílek:
A healthy point. A point that was well deserved in my opinion. Although I am aware that Sparta could have decided in the end and pulled to their side, I still have the feeling that we were a bit better team in the context of the whole match.
The reason we didn’t make it to the winning end was because of our final phase. And efficiency in a way. We had three rebound shots in the second half. At least one shot should threaten the opponent’s goalkeeper. But everything went to the first row on the stand.
Sparta is a quality opponent, we will certainly win, but I still have the feeling that the team did their best for him. I would have been rewarded with three if we had.
