Marseille Opera: Commemorations of the events of 1943

From 12 p.m., a tribute to the Jews rounded up in the Opéra district will be paid on the forecourt of the opera house, with speeches, laying of a wreath and unveiling of the first stele of the memorial route. The exhibition “The Jews of France in the Shoah” will be treated in the hall of the Opera. This exhibition – an adaptation of the “Le Temps des Rafles” exhibition, produced under the direction of Serge Klarsfeld in 1992 – is co-produced by the Shoah Memorial and the National Office for Veterans and War Victims. Then, from 4 p.m., at the end of the day, a performance will be given in the great hall of the Opera, with the screening of a documentary film of testimonies and a concert by the Marseille music conservatory.
