From February 8 to 10, 2023, 32 Belgian suppliers of potatoes, fruit, vegetables and fruit trees will be represented through three interprofessions and four fruit and vegetable clock markets at Fruit Logistica. These participants will be exhibited at the common stand of the Flemish Marketing Center for Agriculture and Fisheries (VLAM) in Hall 27 – stand A 22.

The international fruit and vegetable industry will soon come to Berlin for Fruit Logistica. Never has the interest of Belgian exhibitors been as great as this year, with a record participation of 40 companies and auctions, reports VLAM. Belgian suppliers occupy a stand of 660 m². Through product presentations, the entire range of the Belgian vegetable, fruit, potato and fruit tree sector will be highlighted.

“At a time marked by recession, inflation and energy crises, there will be plenty of talking points in the German capital. One of these topics could be how the fruit and vegetable sector is coping with current challenges. What are the solutions ? One thing is certain: the already remarkable sustainability trend will continue to grow. Among consumers, on the other hand, there are signs of a return to traditional seasonal vegetables. Producers and retailers cannot ignore this trend. »

“In Belgium, the production of seasonal vegetables has always played an important role. In winter, for example, think of endive or Brussels sprouts, which originate from us! In addition, Belgian leeks are in high demand internationally during the winter season. Greenhouse cultivation is sharply reduced this winter due to high energy prices, only to pick up again in the spring. »
