Tips from this episode:
Series: Hunters season 2 on Amazon Prime Video. A series that can best be described as Inglourious Basterds, but set in 1970s America, with Al Pacino in the lead role. A group of Jews and sympathizers hunts down the Nazis who successfully fled after the war, and under a new name in US life. The Hunters don’t accept that, and so those Nazis come to a suspiciously bloody end. Tasty pulp, so a lot of violence, a complete over the top story, but exciting, with the best of some historically correct interfaces – until it goes completely over the top again.
podcast: The agent. A documentary podcast about and with Jack Barsky, who, as a young East German, started working as a secret agent for the Russian KGB in the late 1970s. He lived for a long time as a KGB spy in America, where he had a normal life. Barsky talks about his KGB training and existence as a spy, and an FBI agent talks about how he was eventually caught. According to experts, the Russians still use this method of ‘deep undercover’. Rarely can these ‘sleeper agents’ be exposed.
Series: 1923 on Sky Showtime. A prequel to Yellowstone, starring Harrison Ford. More Ford from Friday Shrinka drama comedy from the creators behind the series Ted Lasso, met Ford as a psychiatrist treating a psychiatrist.
