the brilliant short film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet
Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet returned to his first love with a short film. The latter tells the true story of Amélie Poulain, very different from that of the 2001 film…
Amélie Poulain: 22 years old already
In April 2001, the world discovered Audrey Tautou in The fabulous destiny of Amelie Poulaindreamlike fable of Jean-Pierre Jeunet aux 4 César, which remains today one of the greatest French successes in the world. The film presents a romantic and dreamy young woman living in the Montmartre district of Paris.
Her life is turned upside down the day when, by a twist of fate, she decides that his life will be dedicated to repairing that of others. Thus, by using stratagems, she intervenes incognito in the lives of people in her neighborhood. But his business is undermined by his meeting with a strange boy, Nino Quincampoix, who tries to elucidate the mystery of the stranger in the photo booth.
The unexpected short film
While he has only made two films in ten years (the last of which, big bugwas not released in the cinema but on Netflix), Jean-Pierre Jeunet returned to his first love by posting an unexpected short film on his YouTube channel.
The video opens with the director, surrounded by objects from the film, explaining that he wants to tell “the true story of Amélie Poulain”. A short film of more than six minutes follows. wildly imaginative, trademark of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, on the true nature of the heroine. What if Amélie was actually a KGB spy? Thanks to an inspired montage, the director gives us a nice gift that fans of the film will appreciate. They did not fail to point it out in the comments.
