Spring Break 2023: School Holiday Dates by District
They are called spring break, even though they still take place in winter. This year, schoolchildren will have a holiday from February 6 to March 19. However, the holidays last only five working days – the dates differ according to individual districts. Find out in the following overview when schools and kindergartens close in your area.
The date of spring break for primary, secondary, elementary art schools and conservatories is governed by guideline issued by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
Individual dates are determined based on where the school is located. So not according to the address of the child’s residence.

School holidays in 2023:
When planning time off, in many households it is also necessary to take into account holidays in schools and kindergartens. In addition, the school year can also be interspersed with headmasters’ leave, which, of course, each school decides for itself.
- First half year on ends Tuesday, January 31, 2023. On Friday, February 3 then the pupils have a one-day half-term holiday.
- Spring Break they last a week and vary by district. They take place between February 6 and March 19.
- Easter holidays have children this year in Thursday, April 6. Finally, they are followed by Easter.
- After the summer holidays the new school year begins on September 4which is monday.
