Program change on January 25th: No “Dead People from Salzburg” and the start of the ZDF series will be postponed
Because of the Handball World Cup and the Leopard tank deliveries in the Ukraine, ZDF is changing its entire evening program today.
The new installment in the crime series “The Dead of Salzburg” which was originally supposed to be broadcast at 8:15 p.m. was canceled because the German national handball team will meet France in the quarter-finals of the World Cup today. The game will be broadcast live on ZDF from 8:05 p.m.
The planned ZDF series start of “Hotel Mondial” with Gesine Cukrowski will also be postponed by one week (to Wednesday, February 1, 7:25 p.m.).
Following today’s news, Bettina Schausten and Anne Gellinek will be asking the Federal Chancellor about the delivery of tanks to the Ukraine from 7:25 p.m “Was a nun, Mr. Scholz? Questions to the Chancellor”.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been under a lot of pressure in the debate over the delivery of Leopard main battle tanks to Ukraine in recent weeks. Now the decision: Germany will deliver battle tanks.
The Kremlin warns that a delivery of battle tanks would worsen German-Russian relations even further. Which decisions are still pending in the almost year-long war in Ukraine and how Berlin politicians want to solve the associated crises – these are the questions the Chancellor asks himself in the “What now?” interview in the ZDF capital city studio.
This will be followed directly from 7.55 p.m “ZDF special” with moderator Matthias Fornoff on the subject.

A note for the fans of “Die Toten von Salzburg”:
For the time being, ZDF will no longer show films with Florian Teichtmeister. The Austrian actor has been charged with possession of child pornography. After the suspicions, ZDF and ORF, together with the production company and the actor, decided that Teichtmeister would only play a small role in the current episode of “Die Toten von Salzburg”. ZDF has shortened the latest episode “Schattenspiel”, which is canceled today, by the approximately 40-second long final scene with him. It is not yet clear when the new episode will be shown.
