Energy crisis: an association threatens to attack the town hall of Toulouse if it does not turn off the stores at night
The France Nature Environnement association has had a bailiff note that many businesses do not turn off their signs after 1 a.m. She expressly asks the town hall of Toulouse to extinguish these businesses. Otherwise, she will attack him before the administrative court.
In this period of energy crisis, where the authorities are asking the population to save energy, many businesses still leave their signs on. The association France Nature Environnement had it noted in Toulouse, on December 6, by a bailiff. Thirty-six businesses were caught in the act that night. And they were certainly not the only ones.
The legislation imposes an extinction at 1 a.m., at least 36 businesses illegally
The legislation requires that the interior lighting of premises for professional use, the lighting of the windows of shops or exhibition shops be extinguished at the latest at 1 hour, or one hour after the end of the occupation of these premises, if this This comes later, recalls the association.
France Nature Environnement therefore asks the mayor of Toulouse “to kindly notify the formal notices to cease illegal night lighting to the persons concerned as soon as possible”.
The association will seize the administrative court if the town hall does not act with the businesses concerned
“In the absence of a positive response, we will seize the administrative court of Toulouse with a request for annulment, accompanied by an injunction to put an end to this waste, unacceptable at a time when everyone is asked to show energy sobriety”, explains Hervé Hourcade, lawyer from France Nature Environnement Midi-Pyrénées.
“After 6 years of findings, awareness and exchanges of letters with traders and the town hall of Toulouse, our approved association is now forced to take legal action to enforce this regulation”, adds the association.
