Culture, Film | Proud filmmakers celebrate Oscar nomination for “Night Trick”
It became clear when the nomination was announced in Los Angeles by actors Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams on Tuesday.
– We are so proud of this film and the team behind it. A day of joy for Norwegian film, say the producers Heidi Arnesen and Gaute Lid Larssen TV 2.
The whole gang behind the film was gathered in the production company’s premises (Cylinderproduktion) and let loose their cheers when the news came.
“Nattrikken” is registered by Eirik Tveiten and is about a drunken woman who raps a tram, and who thus becomes responsible for the passengers. The main role is played by Sigrid Husjord.
The film was filmed in Trondheim, and the Gråkallbanen is central to the film’s handling, writes The address newspaper.
– It is of course a dream to be part of a production that has been so recognized and has gone as far as Oscar consideration, she says.
The 44-year-old has previously, among other things, played in the series “Beforeigners” and “Kristiana magic theater”. She is an actor at the Norwegian Theatre.

«La Valise Rouge», «Le Pupille» and «An Irish Goodbye» are the other nominees in the best short film category, in addition to the Danish «Ivalu», which is registered by Anders Walter.
The Danes are also nominated in the category best documentary for «A House Made of Splinters», directed by Simon Lereng Wilmont, while Mikkel EG Nielsen is nominated for best clip.
Sweden has also received three nominations. Ruben Östlund is nominated both for best screenplay, best film and best director for the film “Triangle of Sadness”.
In the directing category, he competes with Steven Spielberg (The Fabelmans), Todd Field (Tár), Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All at Once) and Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin).

A total of ten films have been nominated in the best film category. Besides «Triangle of Sadness», «All Quiet on the Western Front», «Avatar: The Way of Water», «The Banshees of Inisherin», «Elvis», «Everything Everywhere All at Once», «The Fabelmans», « Tár», «Top Gun: Maverick» and «Women Talking» nominated.
The sci-fi indie film «Everything Everywhere All at Once» starring Michelle Yeoh has received the most nominations. The film has been nominated a total of eleven times. Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu and Ke Huy Quan are all nominated for their supporting roles.
The other nominees for supporting actress are Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hong Chau (The Whale) and Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin).

For Best Supporting Actor, Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Brian Tyree Henry (Causeway), Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans), Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin) are nominated along with Quan.
Yeoh is nominated for Best Actress alongside Cate Blanchett (Tár), Ana de Armas (Blonde), Andrea Riseborough, (To Leslie) and Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans).
Austin Butler (Elvis), Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin), Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Paul Mescal (Aftersun) and Bill Nighy (Living) are nominated for Best Actor.
The Oscars will take place on March 12, or the night of March 13 Norwegian time. This is the 95th time that the film prize has been awarded.
