Journalist-writer Uğur Mumcu was commemorated on the 30th anniversary of his death with events organized by some district municipalities in Istanbul.
Sarıyer Municipality held a commemoration program for Uğur Mumcu, who lost their lives in the bomb attack on the front of the house on January 24, 1993, in the park called PTT Evleri Mahallesi.
In the event attended by Sarıyer Mayor Şükrü Genç, CHP Sarıyer District President Ahmet Güveloğlu and their entourage, carnations were placed on Uğur Mumcu’s bust in the park.
The statue made to Uğur Mumcu monument in Şişli was restored
Şişli Municipality also held a commemoration ceremony for Uğur Mumcu.
The program was distributed to the Uğur Mumcu Monument building, which was built for Mumcu in Şişli in 1996 and restored this year by master architect-sculptor Pınar Öktem Doğan with the initiative of the municipality.
Şişli Mayor Muammer Keskin, CHP Şişli District President Tamer Özcanlı and DİSK Chairman Arzu Çerkezoğlu, and Doğan who restored the monument and the employee attended the program where the monument was inaugurated.

Kartal Municipality held a talk at Uğur Mumcu Cultural Center to commemorate Mumcu.
Journalists Murat Ağırel, Timur Soykan and Mustafa Hoş took part in the interview written “We were shot, O My People, Do Not Forget Us”.
