An adaptation of a libretto by Martin Opitz
The original work is a realization of Heinrich Schütz, Dafne. The creation was then inspired by a libretto by the baroque poet, Martin Opitz, Ovid’s Metamorphoses. But during the fires that ravaged the city of Dresden, the Schütz partition was destroyed.
The still unscathed libretto then inspired the composer Wolfgang Mitterer. Thus is born the opera Dafne known at present. The opera was then imagined for a vocal ensemble of 12 singers. Perfect for company The Cries of Paris supervised by the composer, the musical director of the company Geoffroy Jourdain and the director Aurélien Bory.
