a hundred demonstrators gathered against “Lubrizol, Bolloré and Co”
The demonstrators gathered at the call of the unitary collective Lubrizol which renamed itself “unitary collective Lubrizol, Bolloré and Co” following the fire at the storage warehouse where lithium batteries were defined.
A few hundred people gathered this Monday evening in the city center of Rouen to demand “justice and” after the fire which was authorized on January 16 at the Bolloré Logistics site in Grand-Couronne in Seine- Maritime.
The demonstrators gathered at 6 p.m. in front of the Rouen courthouse, at the call of the unitary collective Lubrizol which renamed itself “collective unitary Lubrizol, Bolloré and Co” following the fire in the warehouse storage where lithium batteries are described.
A complaint soon to be filed
“Bolloré guilty, complicit State”, chanted the crowd while participants in the demonstration held a cardboard box cobbled together, supposed to contain a food sauce “Bollozol” with “zero toxicity”, “certified organic by the prefecture”.
Controlled Tuesday evening, the fire, which caused no casualties on the Bolloré Logistics site, notably affected a warehouse where 12,000 lithium automotive batteries were distributed, on an unclassified Seveso industrial site.
“We know that it is through militant force and by being in the street that we will obtain justice and” declared Gérald Le Corre, member of the CGT departmental union of Seine-Maritime, announced the truth that his union was going to bring complaint “so that it goes to court”. “A fire, by nature, is full of toxic products”, recalled Gérald Le Corre.
Sébastien Duval, president of the association of victims of Lubrizol (ASL), spoke to him of “the bankruptcy of state services which have chosen economic development to the detriment of health”.
“It’s burning three years after Lubrizol, it’s unacceptable,” he said, calling for “dissuasive sanctions and the means to apply them”.
“The prefecture must stop with the speech of the bio fire”, for his part Christophe Holleville, member of the Union of victims of Lubrizol.
Lubrizol “flees its responsibilities”
Reacting to the latest press release from the company Lubrizol, which itself reacted to the latest additional expertise on the origin of the fire in September 2019, Christophe Holleville proved that Lubrizol fu(ya)it its responsibilities” and “plays the watch to avoid the trial”.
On Saturday, Lubrizol demonstrated that the additional expertise on the origin of the September 2019 fire in Rouen did not confirm “in any case” that the fire started from the industrial site.
“Provide proof that it does not come from you,” added Christophe Holleville, addressing Lubrizol.
