The scene is impressive. This Saturday, January 21, 2022, shortly after 1 p.m., the driver of a truck traveling in the Revel – Toulouse direction lost control of his vehicle on leaving Saint-Felix-Lauragaisthe level of No. 72 on the road to Toulouse. The heavyweight ended its race within the confines of a property located on the edge of the road, a few hundred meters after the village pharmacy but opposite it.
A dozen firefighters were quickly deployed to the scene. They took care of the driver who is “in cardiac arrest” upon their arrival, according to information sent by the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Haute-Garonne (Sdis 31).
The driver evacuated by helicopter to Purpan
UN Samu helicopter was sent to the scene to proceed with the transfer of the victim, in absolute urgencyto the Purpan hospital in Toulouse.
Several gendarmes were also mobilized on the spot following this accident. They set up a alternate circulation at the height of the accident. Firefighters and soldiers were still on site at 3 p.m.
The snow in question?
Difficult for the moment to know the causes of this accident which occurred in a straight line. The snow fell last night but also in the morning on Saint-Félix-Lauragais. It was still visible on the sides at the time of the accident.
Did the vehicle leave the roadway after sliding on part of frozen road ? Did he go into the background after having bit the bottom rib ? So many questions whose answers remain unanswered for the moment.
Other accidents in the morning in Haut Lauragais
Note that several other accidents occurred at the end of the night and in the morning on the roads of Lauragais where the traffic conditions were sometimes quite difficult. Most of the time, the damage was only material as on theAvenue of the Pyreneesin the municipality of Garrevaquesor a collision between two cars was recorded around 10:50 a.m. After the assessment of the rescuers and nurses, the six people involved were left behind by the emergency services.
A few minutes earlier, around 10 a.m., a vehicle occupied by two people ended up on the roof while he was traveling on the N126, the axis dependent on Castres in Toulouse, near the town of Maurens Scopont. This time a 59-year-old woman had to be evacuated in relative emergency to the Pays d’Autan Hospital in Castres.
