Hradec is calling SOS! His lineup was scattered, he looked out for talent from Slavia
After the end of the autumn part and the series of three defeats in a row, Miroslav Koubek said: We are playing for salvation! The coach of the fifth team Hradec Králové had no idea what complications he would have to deal with before the start of spring. The basic assembly is broken to the core. Four players are currently incapacitated, including the offensive powerhouses Daniel Vašulín and Filip Kubala. Therefore, a plan is being quietly born to end the offensive lines.
On Thursday, Hradec went past the fourteenth team of the Polish Ekstraklasa, Lechia Gdansk, in the general round. However, after a dominant confident performance and a clear 3:0 result, Miroslav Koubek did not hide his disappointment. “The huge shadow of the match is the injury of two very important players,” he said.
After half an hour of the game, Jakub Kučera spoke about replacing the central midfielder. Another six minutes later, stopper Michal Leibl had to be sent off. “It was played from the floor, that’s how it is in matches against these teams. I’m not complaining, we also play aggressively,” said Koubek fairly.
The problems of the fifth unit of the autumn part of FORTUNA: LEAGUE are growing to monstrous proportions. Hradec is calling SOS! Two offensive aces – Daniel Vašulín and Filip Kubala – also have the status of incapacity for work. Both were injured in the first week of training.
The first-named did not finish the duel with Slavia on January 8 due to a sprained ankle, while his partner is suffering from thigh muscle pain. Although they both went to training in Antalya, Turkey, they did not actively participate in any of the three preparatory duels. Hradec is trying to have both of them ready for the opening spring match against Pilsen. But the result is highly uncertain…
That’s why Hradec will probably make an effort to pad the staff in the offensive position. He would like to bring in one striker. Behind the scenes, there is talk of hosting Slavist hope Daniel Šmiga, whose performance in the winter training was praised by Jindřich Trpišovský.
The 19-year-old player graduated from training camps in Portugal. More intensive negotiations should start at the end of next week, when both clubs will be in the Czech Republic.
If he fell off the table with a transfer, the East Bohemians would have to rely on former “kangaroo” Matěj Koubek, which may not be a long shot. In the non-competition period, the shapely fighter caught the eye. He hit the target twice in the general game with Lechia.
“It’s all about game practice. In Bohemka, Matěj had no minutes for more than a year. At the same time, it has potential. Offensive, running and shooting. Because we don’t have Kubala and Vašulín, a window has opened for him and a chance in the right direction,” Koubek praises the 23-year-old attacker.
The league starts for Hradec in exactly one week. There is not much time left for healing or strengthening.
