Handball / Proligue: Billère refines against Toulouse
Valentin Doudeau, placed on the extreme left of the blue defense to serve as a launching pad for pilfered balloons, took a solid Toulouse in the buffet after barely 5 minutes of play. A shock that left him with a severe pain in the shoulder, forcing the Béarn coach to put his center half away on the bench so as not to take any risk on the severity of the injury. With the other usual leader Sergio de la Salud who had stayed at home, Daniel Deherme had to make his first rotations more quickly than expected and deal with plans B, even C, in his offensive organization.
Edu-Reig in great shape
Despite this, the Billérois still showed good dispositions, leading to the score until the middle of the first period, before the Toulouse machine started up. In the radius of individual satisfactions, the metronome Edu Reig-Guillen, freshly renewed under the blue tunic for 2 additional seasons, did not fail in his reputation (7 goals). Sacha Cohn, more used than usual, showed that we could count on him and Hector Gonzalez-Diaz, a little more stressed on the offensive phases, also proved to be invaluable on this side of the field.
The small negative note will come from the overflow of liberality and haste that Jérémy Vergely’s teammates have sometimes shown, especially on the rising balls.
The Béarnais, after a weekend of rest, will resume preparation which will lead them to the Tolosa tournament in the Basque Country at the end of January, before the first official trip of the season to Nancy on February 3.
