Shortly before 4 p.m., a neighbor heard cries for help from an apartment in Ansfelden. He quickly noticed that smoke was coming out of the apartment and the smoke detectors were going off. He immediately calls the police, who arrive with a large contingent of firefighters. But the door to the apartment is locked. Because no one opens, the police kick the door open with several kicks.
“In the completely smoke-filled apartment, our colleagues then found the three children aged one, four and five years in the bedroom. There was a pot of meat on the stove in the kitchen: the reason for the fire,” says Barbara Riedl, spokeswoman for the Ansfelden police in the RTL interview. The siblings are taken outside and given first aid. They are taken to hospital with mild smoke inhalation.
criminal complaint against the mother
Shortly thereafter, the mother appears at the scene of the accident with an unbelievable excuse. She tells the officers that she went shopping and locked her children in the apartment. Her husband is working.
As police spokeswoman Barbara Riedl confirms, the mother of three now faces a charge of negligent bodily harm. In addition, she must expect a visit from the youth welfare office. The three small children have since been removed from the hospital. The property damage is also minor. Good luck to the family after an irresponsible decision by the mother. (kri)
