DPS in Letňany awaits expansion and modernization PRAGUE 18 | News
The nursing home in the northern part of the Letňany housing estate will be expanded and completely modernized in the future. Currently, clients can use 28 residential units in the premises of the former kindergarten, but the plan is to expand to the final 47.
“We will raise the DPS building by one floor. Furthermore, we are counting on the creation of a raised terrace on the middle floor, which will be used to meet the seniors who live there, either among themselves or with family members,” plans Prague 18 municipal councilor Martin Halama (ODS and Svobodní).
At the same time, the municipality promises a total opening to the public space from the project, by removing the original fencing and creating new pedestrian terraces.
The project already has a final architectural form. The author of the proposal is the Křivka Architectural Office. The Prague 18 district is currently seeking funding for it.
“We have an approved zoning decision, we are in the construction process, and as far as finances are concerned, that is currently a problem, but I hope that we will be able to implement the project during this election period,” calculates Martin Halama (ODS and Svobodní), councilor of the Municipal Prague 18.
The financing of the project should come partly from the budget of the Prague 18 Municipal District, but mainly from the money of the Prague City Hall. Hopefully everything will go according to plan and the seniors from the Letňany Nursing Home will have a nicer and friendlier home in a few years. Ondřej Švec, Television Prague.
