Prague – The indie-pop trio The Valentines and the singer 7krát3 with their accompanying band will perform at the 32nd anniversary concert of the club in Prague’s Rock Café today. Celebrations are created in the spirit of the 90s of the 20th century. The organizers adapt the offer of the drink menu and the decoration accordingly. Visitors who arrive in period clothing are promised a free welcome drink.
The biggest star of the evening will be 7krát3, winner of the Anděl award for 2020. The singer, whose real name is Štěpán Hebík, recently presented his new album II, from which, among other things, he released a clip for the single YoYo. The Rock Café will be performed live by the musicians he surrounded himself with. With this year’s first concert in Prague, 7krát3 will start a tour of the Czech Republic.
Rock Café has been operating in repaired and soundproofed premises for several years. Residents of the building complained about noise in the past, and the Prague 1 club banned concerts. Operators began to worry about the fate of the company. They believed that it was only an excuse to close the Rock Café and transfer the premises, which belong to the city district, to other entrepreneurs.
A wave of indignation rose against the decision, and a demonstration was held. In 2009, several thousand fans gathered to support him on Národní trida. Prague 1 together with the municipality then promised to pay for new noise reduction. The club was only opened again in 2011. The final noise measurement showed that everything was fine.
Due to the anti-covid measures, dozens of people commemorated the 30th anniversary of the opening in 2021 at the Rock Café at a special birthday window on Národní trída. At that time, the club prepared regular sales windows with a charitable focus.
