Plugged European?! Cars will only travel in one lane in both directions due to repairs
Restrictions will gradually appear in Europa Street until this fall. The work will be created in several stages. “At the same time, there will always be passage in both directions on Evropska street. The number of lanes will be reduced from two to one in each direction,” it says in the document. Trams will be out of service in the section from Vozovna Vokovice to Divoká Šárka. Passengers will have to use regular bus lines as alternative transport.
The reconstruction of the Divoká Šárka interchange in the section of the new line in Evropska street from the Divoká Šárka interchange after the turn to Vlastina street includes, among other things, the relocation of engineering networks or the renewal of roadways in Evropska street.
In the next phases of construction that will follow, the two car lanes will be moved to the other half of the roadway. Tram traffic will be restored up to the Divoká Šárka loop, and at the same time, Vlastina Street will be fully passable.
A 2.3-kilometer track with five pairs of stops led from the current loop at the Divoká Šárka stop along the European and then it will turn into Vlastina Street, where 170 trees will be planted, among other things. A parking garage for 290 cars will be built at the end of the tracks on the Dědina housing estate, which will replace the parking spaces that disappeared due to the construction, and which will operate for residents in the blue zone regime.
The construction of the Dědina track is not the only one that the company is currently carrying out. This year in May, the extension of the tram line from Modřany to Libuš will be completed, and in October the extension from Holyně to Slivenka will be completed, which will connect to the already operational section from Barrandov to Holyně. The construction of the new depot in Hloubětín, which is to be completed next year, will continue.
