Monaco bows once again away
The Principality club suffered the law of Fenerbahçe (98-94) in Turkey.
Monaco lost on the floor of Fenerbahçe (98-94), after extra time, during the 20th day of Euroleague Thursday, recording a fourth consecutive defeat far from its bases in the competition.
The “Roca team”, beaten very heavily last week in Belgrade (92-68), showed a much better face in Istanbul, especially during the first period which it won 47-39. But she could not resist the Turkish awakening, notably by the American strong winger Jonathan Motley, 17 points, the Turkish-American point guard, Scottie Wilbekin, his team’s top scorer, 21 points, and Nick Calathes, decisive during the extension.
On the Monegasque side, if Jordan Loyd, one of his best players this season, injured for three weeks, returned to the courts but remained discreet, it was above all captain Yakuba Ouattara and Alpha Diallo who assisted Mike James, best scorer in the meeting (23 points), not enough however to overcome Fenerbahçe. Still fifth in the standings before the other matches of the 20th day, still in the process of qualifying for the “Final Four”, Monaco will host Milan, 17th and penultimate in the Euroleague, during the 21st day next Thursday.
