Twenty-seven people in total around the table and just under three hours of discussions. The meeting held this Tuesday, January 17 between the merchants of the Rock, residents, elected national and municipal councils and government representatives was dense, fruitful and satisfied with the first concerned.
“We felt listened to and heard and real avenues of work were discussed. We all left satisfied”slip with one voice traders and residents through their representatives.
We relate it in our edition of Monaco-Morning from Saturday, January 7, professionals and residents of Le Rocher need to move the lines of their neighborhood.
Break the chipped image that sticks to his skin, wrongly. That of a district exclusively attractive to tourists.
The objective: to bring residents back to Monaco-Ville to show them the assets of this historic place, and that residents find a minimum of service shops and basic necessities.
“At our request, we meet to see what is possible to put in place, to know the constraints of the district and to make ourselves heard”, specified Alexandra Rinaldi, president of the association of merchants of the Rock, at the beginning of January.
A market every week
From this meeting, initiatives and ideas were initiated, with proposals that will be put in place very soon.
Starting with the arrival of a market, once a week, which will be set up behind the cathedral of Monaco”with a market gardener and a florist. We don’t have a date but it will be done quickly, the town hall assured us.explains Alexandra Rinaldi.
Thierry Traina, president of the association of the Le Rocher district, appreciated the proposal of the National Council and the government “rehabilitate the grocery store. The Domains own the walls and they plan, as far as possible, to embellish the place.”
Public access in the evening and on weekends to the La Visitation car park has also been approved. “A few small hiccups are to be resolved such as removing the “reserved” panel”.
A single bus line between Fontvieille and Le Rocher and a shuttle will also be studied.
“The occasional lighting of the Palace on Friday evening, a concert by the Carabinieri, the return of the medieval day, renewed Christmas decorations or even flowers in the streets will also be considered”finished Alexandra Rinaldi.
It was enough for the residents and merchants of Le Rocher to feel supported in their approach and provide a breath of fresh air to their neighborhood.
Today, they claim that they will now closely monitor the future of these proposals.
