Ice hockey: Division 2 – Division 2: 13th day: Annecy vs Roanne – Roanne without concession
FOXES TWO STEPS AHEAD
Both teams are getting into the game pretty well and the first chances are coming quickly. It’s at the 5th minute that Eddy Thonnessen grabs a puck that drags in front of Tristan Mongellazet’s cage quite easily opens the scoring, assisted by Aurélien Haaser and Charles Olivier Ouimet [0-1].
Three minutes later, Annecy got into a little more trouble with the first situation of numerical inferiority (Thomas Hagopian was sanctioned for retaining). The Roannais then preferred a precise and efficient game, but the Knights still managed to kill the sensitivity. Unfortunately, their poor placements sometimes cause them to miss some great opportunities.

At the 14th minute, Tristan Mongellaz fails to hold under his glove the puck thrown by Clément Grossetete, who will end up crossing the line, served by Aurélien Haaser and Eddy Thonnessen [0-2].
But the Hauts-Savoyards, far from admitting defeat, experience a highlight in the last minutes of this third, and accumulate attempts. But neither Éric Springer nor Hugo Moncenix will be able to deceive the vigilance of Matthieu Depanian, the Roanne goalkeeper.
Thirty seconds before the end of the third, Alexandre Monnier takes 2 minutes for an incorrect charge. Annecy will therefore start on the 2th third with 1’30” of numerical superiority, enough to turn the tide.
AN ANCIENT DOMINATION WITHOUT PAYMENT
Annecy returns to the ice with the same energy as that deployed at the end of the first third. But the Knights are unlucky; Eric Springer’s powerful shot causes a difficult rebound for Jan Jenista to take, Hugo Moncenix’s run on the left side and his pass to Gail Perrée in the middle does not arrive at the right place…

On the other hand, Charles Olivier Ouimet’s big shot finds the skylight of the Annecy goal without a hitch [0-3].
The next 15 minutes were a succession of chances, especially from Annecy, and a few penalties on either side of the ice. The Roannaise defense perfectly fulfills its role and allows to play the controlled actions of Annecy. Frustrating.
A “FINALLY!” ” INSUFFICIENT
This last period will be the most eventful, with no less than 10 penalties. The Foxes open the ball (Allan Villand for hardness at 41’19 and Thomas Ravanel for slashing at 45’04), quickly followed by the Knights (Grégory Dufour for slashing at 46’37). And yet it is in a situation of numerical inferiority that Julien Laplace, assisted by Paul Schmitt, reduces to nothing any hope of laundering Matthieu Depanian [1-3]. The audience exults.

The Roannais are temporizing and not rushing; his police faced with a team from Annecy that had become aggressive.
But the hopes of the public are quickly showered by a magnificent individual action of Romain Bonnefond, who shoots in full race [1-4]. There was really nothing to do.
Almost 5 minutes from the end of the match, the start of the fight caused by a charge on Alex Gauze did not help matters… At the end of the penalties and 2 minutes from the final whistle, Annecy asked for a time-out and tries everything for everything by bringing out the goalkeeper.
Unfortunately, an empty goal scored by Charles Olivier Ouimet assisted by Romain Bonnefond will seal the victory for Roanne [1-5].
If Roanne consolidates its 3th place in the regular season, there are still 6 games left in Annecy to move further away from the final phase of maintenance. It will surely not be chosen easy since the Knights will travel to Vaujany-Grenoble, current leaders of the classification, for the 14th daytime.
