Theft of jewels Italian: The thief revealed a trifle
On the afternoon of October 18, two men entered the apartment in Italská street. They searched it all, took valuables, euros, but also a safe, where the owners had jewelry worth millions of crowns. “The men then put all the things, including a small safe, into bags and left the apartment together. They then divided the loot at the agreed place,” said police spokesman Jan Rybanský.
The detectives immediately went to work. At the scene of the crime, they secured clues, they also got their hands on camera recordings. They ended up playing a key role. Although they were not of good quality that they could know the perpetrators, but he watched the little things held by one of the suspects in his hand. “There was an assumption that he might have bought it somewhere around the scene of the crime. This was indeed confirmed by the investigation, and the criminal investigators obtained video recordings from the establishment where the men had refreshments before the crime. Thanks to them, they identified on October 24, six days after the crime, an old acquaintance, “which has been tried for similar crime in the past,” Rybanský described.
Coincidentally, the man had a court appearance on the same day, so the detectives waited for him there. During the interrogation, he confessed and also gave the stolen jewelry to the police, which he had previously hidden with his girlfriend. “The police tracked down the second suspect in the evening hours of the same day on Wenceslas Square, along with some of the stolen jewelry, he was also wanted nationwide. He confessed to the police at the police and subsequently handed over the rest of the alienated magnifying glass he had at home, ”the spokesman said.
In total, criminal investigators supplied two million three hundred thousand crowns worth of jewelry to both men, and they are still looking for it. For theft and violations of home freedom, gauners face up to eight years behind bars.
