“Florian Kainz is one of our most consistent players and an absolute top performer in our team. He has confirmed his strong form from the previous season this season,” said FC Managing Director Christian Keller, explaining the step to tie a professional who has long since developed into a top performer and leading player “And identified 100 percent with FC and our path,” said Keller.
On the club’s website, Kainz thanked “for the trust that has been placed in me” and: “I would like to take on even more responsibility on and off the field in the future. I’m convinced of the way we play football and firmly believe that I’ll be able to play successfully with FC in the Bundesliga in the years to come.”
After a convincing season so far with five goals and five assists in 14 league appearances (football average score 2.96), which makes him the best scorer in FC, Kainz was brought back into the game by coach Ralf Rangnick at the end of the year after a break of a few months appointed to the Austrian national team. In Cologne he reliably forms one of the best left wings in the league with Jonas Hector.
