Barcelona participates in Fitur to project the city’s offer in “territorial key”
BARCELONA, 18 Jan. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Barcelona participates in the edition of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) that is held in Madrid from this Wednesday until January 22 with a new stand of the ‘Destinació Barcelona’ to project the offer of the city and its regions in “territory key”.
In a statement on Monday, the Barcelona City Council explained that it is a 200-square-meter space owned by Turisme de Barcelona shared with the Barcelona Provincial Council and that it is located in the Catalonia area of the Catalan Tourism Agency.
The president of Barcelona Tourism, Eduard Torres; the Barcelona Councilor for Tourism and Creative Industries, Xavier Marcé, and the President of the Barcelona Provincial Council, Núria Marín will inaugurate the stand this Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., when the new video ‘Barcelona, the place to be’.
The space has a program of acts and events for each of the days of the fair and the “main claims” that will mark 2023 such as sports, culture and food and wine will be made visible.
This same Wednesday an event will be held with the former cyclist ‘Purito’ Rodríguez in which the Cycling Tour and the stages of Barcelona will be explained, along with projects for blue roads and other routes.
The chef and businessman Joan Roca, from ‘El celler de can Roca’ and the cook from ‘La Gormanda’ Carlota Claver, as a representative of the new generation of chefs, will talk on Thursday in an act to give continuity to the campaign ‘La revolució gastronomy continues to Barcelona’.
AMERICA’S CUP AND AGREEMENTS
Regarding the celebration of the America’s Cup of Sailing in 2024, they have scheduled a presentation by the general director of the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona, Ignasi Armengol, and in the cultural field, the celebrations of the Picasso year will be valued and the Domènech i Montaner.
Within the framework of Fitur, Eduard Torres will sign a new collaboration agreement with Renfe to determine marketing actions and will formalize an agreement with Mexico to promote the promotional strategy “of one of the most important issuing markets and of most interest to Barcelona” .
