The ‘electric’ current in automotive friction has begun to hiss in Turkey, although a little late.
In particular, the fact that Turkey’s domestic car brand Togg will only produce electric cars makes these cars, which are powered by a powerful battery, a matter of curiosity during the day.
While there are only a few days left on Togg’s roads, the number of electric vehicles in the market is increasing compared to previous years.
According to the results of the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), the number of electric cars sold in Turkey exploded by 252 percent in 2022 and achieved a market share of over 1 percent for the first time, with 7,733 units and 1.3 percent of the market. created.
While a new electric model is coming to Turkey every day, there are many options for those who want to convert their internal combustion engine car into electricity or prefer their second car to be electric.

It is seen that the closest notebook to electric vehicles sold in Turkey, these models are mainly products of premium brands.
AUDI
If we go by alphabetical order, German manufacturer Audi offers 2 different electric cars for sale in Turkey. One is offered with an SUV body and the other with a sedan bodywork.
Audi is the second brand of the Volkswagen Group, after Porsche, to sell electric cars in Turkey.
BMW
BMW, one of the brands with the widest range of electric models in Turkey, offers 4 different electric cars to its buyers.
The most striking model among them is the i7. BMW’s flagship 7 Series got an all-electric version of i7 accessories in its new generation.
This model, which has a 60 percent SCT, draws attention with the fact that it is sold almost 50 percent cheaper than its diesel engine sibling, which has 220 percent SCT.
The German brand has electric models named i4, iX, iX3.
CITROEN
French automaker Citroen launched its new electric model C4X in Turkey last week and released its electric model.
Citroen’s other electric car is the ë-C4, the hatchback brother of the C4X. The prices of both cars with the same technical features are at the same level. However, these cars can be increased by 250 thousand TL by increasing their SCT to 40 percent with a small hike.
HYUNDAI
Hyundai had recently created the electric car brand ioniq. The first model of ioniq, the 5, took its place in dealers in 2022.
Apart from the ioniq 5, which is offered for sale with 2 different traction systems and power options, the electric version of the Kona model of the Korean brand is also offered for sale in Turkey.
JAGUAR
Jaguar is among the brands that entered the Turkish electric car market early.
The British manufacturer, which brought the I-Pace model to Turkey before the pandemic, is currently bringing the country where this car will be the only power.
Jaguar aims to produce only electric cars after 2030.
kia
Korean manufacturer Kia’da, electric models offered for sale in Turkey in the last quarter of 2022.
Bringing the fully electric version of the Niro model to Turkey along with the hybrid option, Kia also launched its first car, the EV6, which was designed as an electric model from scratch, at the same time as the Niro.
Unlike Niro, EV6 took its place in dealers with 3 powers.
MERCEDES-BENZ
Another German manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, is among the brands with the largest electric vehicle portfolio in Turkey.
Although it will change the naming, Mercedes’ electric cars are grouped under the name EQ.
The brand’s EQ family includes SUV and sedan options in different sizes. Sedan versions, on the other hand, offer different power options.
MINI
British manufacturer Mini, released by BMW, was also caught in the electric car caravan.
Mini’s first and only electric car is in the 10 percent SCT segment.
OPEL
Stellantis’ German branch Opel entered 2023 with two electric models.
Opel models, which have the same battery and power output as the electric cars of its French brother Citroen, are in the B-segment hatchback and B-segment SUV class.
PORSCHE
German sports car manufacturer Porsche’s Taycan model was the best-selling electric model in Turkey before the SCT applied to electric vehicles was changed.
Taycan has 3 different power body and 5 different power options. The most powerful version of the model is Turkey’s most expensive electric car.
RENAULT
Renault is currently competing in the electric vehicle race with a single model.
Competing with the weight Zoe model for more urban use, Renault’s electric model is also preferred by fleets and car sharing companies.
SERES
Turkish electric car sales show the presence of two Chinese brands. Of these, Seres brings an SUV model named 3.
SKYWELL
Skywell has also entered the competition with the D segment SUV model named ET5.
Skywell is offered for sale in Turkey with two different hardware packages. However, in both versions, the same battery pack and electrical unit do its job.
SUBARU
The electric model developed by the Japanese manufacturer Subaru together with Toyota attracted the attention they had before Toyota last year in Turkey.
Solterra has three different hardware packages.
VOLVO
Swedish Volvo, owned by Chinese Geely, currently only offers compact SUV models electrified.
The electric models of the XC40 and its brother C40 brand in Turkey, which share the same infrastructure. However, unlike the XC40, the C40 is offered with two different power options.
