Created by two Toulousians, Fatal Ritmo is starting to make a name for itself well beyond the Pink City. Paul and Kendal, two thirtysomethings, created just before the Covid this label specializing in electro musicbut in a particular genre: Italo Disco.
Italo Disco is a hit!
“Our electronic music is partly inspired by this music which dates from the 80s and whose spearhead is Giorgio Moroder. We brought it up to date in a current version club more. And as soon as we launched the label, we received demos from artists from all over Europe”, explain Paul and Kendal, who now organize parties in the biggest clubs in Paris, Lyon, Berlin and of course , Toulouse.
Artists from all over the world
The label, which has signed more than thirty artists, also regularly releases artist compilations. “We collaborate with French artists but also from São Paulo, Italy, England, the Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, Montreal”, add the two Toulousains.
“There is a big revival around 80s sounds with big synth melodies and arpeggio bass lines. This 80s influence brings a lot of emotions to the songs we release, between euphoria and nostalgia”.
Big night at the Bikini
To celebrate its three years, Fatal Ritmo brings in the famous DJ Jennifer Cardin at the Bikini, Friday, January 20.
“He is an essential figure in club culture, a reference in France and in the world”, rejoice Paul and Kendal. “It’s the equivalent of Laurent Garnier on the French scene, in terms of aura! “, add the two founders of Ritmo Fatale.
She hadn’t been to Toulouse since 2014, which is to say that it’s an event! The young generation sent by Belaria and Australiawho will play in “b2b” for the first time.
Visual aesthetics
“As visual aesthetics are important to us, we’re happy to have David Brunner among us, with whom we share a lot of references and who takes care of transcribing all that on the Bikini screen”, further specify Paul and Kendal.
