Procida 2022, final event tomorrow at the Royal Palace of Naples – Lombardy

(ANSA) – ROME, 17 JAN – The monuments of Campania will light up in pink tomorrow for the closing of the year as the Italian Capital of Culture of Procida, whose final event is scheduled starting at 3 pm at the Royal Palace of Naples.

For the final event, “Man”, the gigantic luminous figure 12 meters high, a modern version of Rodin’s Thinker created by the Australian artist Amanda Paer and already the protagonist of the last Procida 2022 event held on Sunday on the island, will be erected in the courtyard of The honor of the Royal Palace and at the same time some of the main monuments of Campania will be illuminated in pink, the symbolic color of Procida 2022, as part of an initiative promoted by the Campania Region and the Campania Foundation of Festivals: in particular, the colonnade of the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola in Piazza del Plebiscito and Castel Sant’Elmo, in Naples, the temples of the Archaeological Park of Paestum, the Arch of Trajan in Benevento, the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Marchionale Castle of Taurasi, the Palazzo Comunale of Salerno , the Casina Vanvitelliana of Bacoli and the Amphitheater of Capua.

During the ceremony – in the presence of the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano – the president of the Region Vincenzo De Luca and the mayor of Procida Dino Ambrosino will pass the baton of Italian Capital of Culture to the cities of Bergamo and Brescia, in the hands of the mayors Giorgo Gori and Emile Del Bono.

The event, which will also be attended by the mayor of the Metropolitan City Gaetano Manfredi and Simona Agnes director of the Rai administration (media partner of Procida 2022), will be broadcast on the Digital ecosystem for culture of the Campania Region (cultura.regione.campania.it) and on the official profiles of Procida 2022.

The epilogue of Procida Capital of Culture will also be the time for an overall balance, under various profiles: among others, Felice Casucci, councilor for tourism of the Campania Region, Stefano Luppi, deputy director for ESG sustainability of RAI and Vincenzo Trione , President of the Foundation School of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
