Portugal-South Korea
In the first round, South Korea lost to the Hungarian national team, and Portugal also lost to Iceland. In their match against each other, the more likely Portuguese started better, leading 10-5 after a quarter of an hour. In the continuation, the Asian team caught up to two goals, at the break the difference was three.
In the second half, South Korea continued to cling on to Portugal. After 23-22, the Asians made a seven-meter mistake, and the other attacks failed to equalize either. The Portuguese scored the next goal, and at the start of the last five minutes the difference increased to five.
At the start, South Korea completely collapsed and in the end Portugal won 32–24. André Gomes took part in the success with eight goals.
With this, it was decided that regardless of the other results, Hungary will definitely make it to the semi-finals.
France-Saudi Arabia
The French beat Saudi Arabia in a match that suited a light training session. At halftime, the difference was already ten goals, Kentin Mahé’s eventually won by eighteen. Mahé, playing in Veszprém, scored six goals.
Brazil-Uruguay
In football, this would have been a huge South American rally, but here Brazil did not have to stop to win. Rudolph Hackbarth was Brazil’s top scorer with seven goals from seven attempts for his bigger team, which won by 11 goals.
Montenegro-Iran
Montenegro suffered against Iran, although the victory of the European team was not really in danger. With this, two or three goals were the only difference almost throughout, the end was 34-31.
