This awaits Sola Handball in Denmark – Dagsavisen
For the second time in one week, Sola will go to Europe for what will be the third game of the week. After the home win against Fana in the Rema 1000 league, it is clear for the first away game of the season in the EHF European League, and Danish Nykøbing Falster are the opponents.
The last preparations for the matches Sola in Åsenhallen before the flight to Copenhagen. Coach Steffen Stegavik led the Sola girls through the session, and is ready for what awaits in Denmark.
– Nykøbing Falster is a team with an extremely high tempo in the game. For us, the important thing will be the home run, and we must have control over that. They are favourites, but we must have an opportunity, says Stegavik to RA.
Hopefully it will be an even match, but they are among the favorites to win the tournament.

Favorite stamp
– You say relatively often that the opponent is favorites in Europe, but still ends up winning. Will it be an hour-long win?
– If we win by ten goals here, I will be involved in doing anything in a possible bet. Hopefully it will be an even match, but they are among the favorites to win the tournament. We have to try some new things, but have had a short time between games to prepare it, says Stegavik.
– Is Sola getting close to becoming favorites all around?
– Against some teams we are, but in the away games we are not. We are not yet there that we can go around as favourites, regardless of who we meet in Europe, says the Sola coach.
Like Sola, Nykøbing Falster is forced out of its own hall to play the home games in Europe. The organizer’s requirements mean that several clubs have to move to larger halls to play.
They are in fourth place in the Bambusa Women’s League and only have points up to the three teams in front. Mia Svele plays on the team. She is the daughter of TV 2 profiler Bent Svele, who was last Wednesday in Åsenhallen to comment on Sola-Fana.

Roundtrip to Copenhagen
The journey to Sola will be of the simple kind. Instead of locations more stopovers, it is a direct flight to Copenhagen, and then get on the bus for around half an hour.
Coach Stegavik believes it makes the preparations simpler.
– It’s just like an ordinary away game really. The only thing that is different now is that we leave the day before and come home after the game. In Norway, we usually have to go on the day of the match and come home the day after, but the flight routes for SAS make it possible to come home from Copenhagen on Saturday evening. This means that we get Sunday off, and it comes in handy in the match program we are in, says Stegavik.
It’s a big squad he can choose from, and only playing is out for the game. Angunn Gudmestad and Vilde Ueland are not available this weekend. The latter must test in the 2nd division towards the end of the month after a long-term injury.
Saturday’s game starts at 4:00 p.m.
