The startup from Thessaloniki that makes delivery… a piece of cake
One reliable ally in the daily management of orders has been offering for some time now Green & Go at catering and trade businesses of Thessalonikifrom public, market and butcher shops until grocery store and pharmaciesputting an end to to… the headache of delivery. With the help of modern digital tools and the support of an ever-growing fleet of distributors, Green & Go since the end of 2020, when it is on the road, aims to deliver quickly and safely and at the lowest possible cost for the client company . of her, as she says in North the mastermind behind the company, o 31-year-old Theocharis Prodromos. With studies in economics and a master’s degree in applied informatics, but mainly with experience in the field of catering already from his student years, which made him see the problems of the sector from the inside, Theoharis Prodromos identified the gap in the market and decided. to do something about it.
Thus, he developed a technological solution so that the store would be available at all times to deliver its orders and not have to worry about problems such as a machine that broke down, a distributor that fell ill and cannot be replaced, or other everyday potential difficulties. When a new order for which the business needs delivery, it is enough to enter the application installed on its computer or on the owner’s mobile phone and the message sent to the Green & Go distributor located closest to the store.
On orders wherever they come from
Green & Go even takes over all of a store’s orders, whether they are by phone, online or through platforms, charging each time according to the number of orders and not a specific amount.
With more than 200 stores in its network and constant requests for collaborations, Green & Go plans within 2023 to expand to other areas of Thessaloniki, east and west, while the next goal is to expand to Athens, as well as to other cities in the region. In fact, within two years it aspires for 30% to 40% of its vehicles to be electric with the ultimate goal of replacing its current fleet, in order to reduce its environmental footprint to zero in the future. After all, the “green” (green) approach is also prominent in its name. Recently, the company entered into a strategic partnership with the BSK Group of Companies for its further development.
One of the characteristics that differentiates Green & Go, according to Theoharis Prodromos, is the respect for distributors, an industry, he says, that offers a lot to the focus. As part of this it offers all statutory remuneration, full service and safe contributions, stable and permanent employment, company vehicles, professional rider equipment, company mobile phone and number with unlimited talk time and MB, paid travel fuel expenses, continuous live support from a call center , flexible hours and a pleasant working environment with development prospects. It is not a coincidence that the area manager of the company Charalambos Tsitouridis was the first distributor of Green & Go, while many of the distributors participate in the management team.
“Team, family, quality” this is the triptych that characterizes Green & Go” says Theoharis Prodromos. The company’s team also includes Nikolaos Koumbouras, Operations Manager and Paschalina Paschalidou in the finance department.
Insider know-how
Theoharis Prodromos experienced catering already from his student years, when he first worked in service. After graduating from university, he opened two of his own restaurants, seeing first-hand the struggles of businesses in the industry. He began to think that there should be a reliable solution, so that he could manage both the many and the few orders and not worry about something happening to his distributor, given that a large part of his turnover came from delivery . An offer to sell his stores interrupted these entrepreneurial pursuits, but they revived again when he started working on the development of an order collection, through which he traveled all over Greece, talked to many shopkeepers and recorded their needs. His academic background combined with the fact that he had been through all the positions in a restaurant, from service and kitchen to delivery and ownership made the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. He even started looking abroad to see successful examples and proceeded to draw up his business plan, determined to create something of his own. That’s how Green & Go came about.
