The bloody altar of freedom: what is the cost of saving the nation? this time not about Lithuania or Ukraine
We have paid the ultimate price for our nation’s freedom. With the lives, suffering, tears, and broken destinies of our loved ones. Although today we commemorate the bloody events of January 13 and pronounce each name of the dead, we also remember all our compatriots who sacrificed their lives on the altar of freedom since the first day of terror in the Soviet Union in 1939.
Today, the altar of freedom burns again. It burns with such a strong flame that we all feel its heat. Although Ukraine, our wounds are so fresh that it hurts as if we were standing next to them.
There is no justification, no logic, no explanation. Therefore, you turn to God and ask why? For what? Is this a divine plan?
Recently, I happened to be at a Mass where salvation was talked about. Man, nation, humanity. I remembered the words that the way of salvation is the way of love. God staffs out of love and for love. Like the nation. And indicated the way to go, gave us his wisdom on how to achieve true freedom.
It is a path full of trials and choices. Painful trials, difficult choices, suffering. But those who do not stray from the path find life, and those who lose it fall into death. We are given a choice, and it is very clear: light or darkness.
We chose. Ukrainians chose. The path to the salvation of our nations is difficult, we have been burning and burning. But will those in the territory called Russia choose? I deliberately do not say “Russians”, because there are many nations and nationalities there.
Will Europe choose and what will it choose? Because there is no middle ground here. What sacrifice will have to be made on the altar of freedom?
We know where indecision leads. The price of the sacrifice increases. Average number of victims. History, recent history, is proof of that.
German ambitions and the First World War – about 16 million. lives. I won’t go into the historical facts, but we all know where unlearned lessons, wrong choices, unrealized and unacknowledged guilt, compromises led… World War II. The largest military conflict in the history of mankind, which claimed 50-70 million lives. people’s lives.
Has Europe learned its lessons? Has the root of evil been uprooted? Having made the greatest sacrifice, have we entered the truth, the path of salvation, or have we realized our guilt? Have we chosen life? It seemed so… Partly so. Especially the defeated nations. They remained.
But a monster was born. Because compromises were made, unfair agreements were made, and injustice was turned a blind eye. There were sacrifices of nations that no one gave the right to sacrifice. We know that. We lived under Soviet occupation.
Our nation burned on the altar of freedom. It didn’t burn. We are free. And thank God.
Now Ukrainians are making a sacrifice for their freedom. How many will burn? Will that be enough? Is this the path of salvation for the Ukrainian nation or for Russia? Or maybe European?
Russia must fall. Not winning the war is not enough. The current Russia must collapse, as the Soviet Union collapsed.
We need to finally realize what even two world wars have taught us so well. There is only one way. There is only one choice. And there is no place for compromises here.
Only when the aggressor country lowers its head, understands, realizes and admits its guilt, opens its heart. Only when the neighboring nations stay on the path of truth and light, an uncompromising path. Only then will we, all of us, survive.
Russia must fall. Not winning the war is not enough. The current Russia must collapse, as the Soviet Union collapsed. How Nazi Germany Fell. And we are all responsible for this. All of Europe, every European country, nation, every person.
The “Russian” people must realize their guilt and consciously bow their heads and repent. This is the way of salvation, this is the way of survival of the “Russian” nation. Otherwise, sooner or later, extinction awaits. There is no other way. Just the number of victims.
I don’t want war. But the war we fear so much will be in Europe. It will happen if out of fear we make wrong choices, compromises, shameful backstage agreements. If we sacrifice Ukraine out of fear. If we let Russia go the way it is going.
Please, let’s not repeat our mistakes. They are too expensive! Let us realize that the victory of Ukraine is the victory of all of us and the opportunity for the “Russian” nation to survive after killing the imperial beast within itself. Let’s finally extinguish that bloody altar.
