Slovakia was attacked by Russian hackers on Friday, the NBU warns against further attacks
They used brute force to overwhelm the servers.
Earlier in the evening, Slovak internet servers were under attack by Russian hackers. He currently confirmed them National Security Office. The latter informs that it has recorded “a series of coordinated cyber security incidents in the cyberspace of the Slovak Republic” and issued a warning against others.
“The Russian group anonymous.ru (Anonymous Russia) is behind the attacks, and they were carried out using the method of disabling the service,” the office said on its Facebook page.
They overwhelmed the targets
This is a more precise attack called DDoS that overwhelms services and causes them to be unavailable or have limited availability, such as random outages or slow responses. So it is not about directly overcoming the security of systems or trying to steal data.
“The NBU will not publicly disclose further details. The office is ready to provide assistance. If necessary, contact the National Cyber Security Center SK-CERT at the e-mail address [email protected],” advises the institution.
We find out what targets were hit. During the evening, we noticed that the Ministry of Justice website was having problems with this, which it did not read.
