ASM announces the departure of a French prodigy
Barred by strong competition in attack, a young hope of theAS Monaco will leave the Principality this winter to relaunch his career.
L’AS Monaco experienced a turbulent start to the year with elimination from the Coupe de France against Rodez and a draw in the league. Held in check by FC Lorient last weekend, the Monegasques are currently 5th in Ligue 1 before hosting AC Ajaccio. Philippe Clément’s men are 5 points behind 3rd place occupied by Olympique de Marseille. The leaders of AS Monaco would like to give themselves all the means to catch up by restructuring the workforce during the winter transfer window.
With this in mind, some players who lack playing time could be sacrificed by ASM this winter. This is particularly the case of the young French striker, Willem Geubbels, which no longer fits into Philippe Clément’s plans. Bought for 20 million euros in 2018, the 21-year-old striker never managed to win in the Principality. The striker trained at Olympique Lyonnais has been hampered by numerous injuries which have slowed his progress. Six months from the end of his contract with AS Monaco, Willem Geubbels should therefore find a new base. According to newspaper information The Teamthe French striker is in advanced negotiations with Charleroi. FC Saint-Gall are also interested in Willem Geubbels, and AS Monaco could accept a free departure with a percentage on sale.
AS Monaco Mercato: The Monegasques want to strengthen this winter
After the sale of Benoît Badiashile and the failure in the file Daniello, the leaders of theAS Monaco would be looking for new reinforcements. The Monegasques learned about the young attacking midfielder broadcast Oscar Goukh which is also plowed by FC Barcelona. At the same time, the Monegasques also offered a first professional contract to the French international U17, Lisandro Olmeta. Under contract until June 2023, the AS Monaco goalkeeper is being tracked by Stade Rennais and Manchester City. ASM is counting on the young hopeful who could therefore commit until 2026 with his training club.
