The section of the line was built by the association of companies Metrostav TBR, OHLA ŽS and Elektrizace železnik Praha. The EU will finance 85 percent of the project. The main goal is the modernization of the Praha-Bubny station, the double-tracking of the approximately 1.3-kilometer line, its electrification and the construction of new stops Praha-Výstaviště. The construction of an underpass is also starting, which will allow a direct transfer between trams and trains.
Bratislava, Planá, Brno. Praguers are a minority among the presidential candidates
Building a high-quality railway connection from Prague to Kladno and also to Václav Havel Airport in Prague is one of the government’s priorities, and the Prague-Bubny station will become an important transfer point for transport in Prague, said Transport Minister Martin Kupka (ODS). The section after the new Praha-Výstaviště stop connects to the reconstructed Negrelli viaduct. From the point of view of safety, the replacement of the busy crossing in Bubenská street with a railway overpass and also the increase of the bridge structure in Dukelské hrdinů street are important, added Jiří Svoboda, director general of the Railway Administration.

The preparatory work will be the first to start, and at the same time a temporary track will be built to maintain train traffic in the direction of Kralupy nad Vltavou. The largest construction objects, which are the three bridge flyovers and the new station building in Bubne, will be completed this May. It will be finished in 2025.
From the station straight to the subway
Praha-Bubny station will be moved closer to the Negrelli viaduct and offer a direct transfer to metro C. Later, a grassy rest area will be built on its roof, and an administrative building will also be created there, along with the construction of a new district, directly above the station. There will be commercial spaces in the station lobbies. The modernized line to the new Praha-Výstaviště stops will mostly lead over the overpass and the stop will be created on the edge of Stromovka. Thanks to the cooperation of the Railway Administration and the capital city, a tram underpass will also be built.

The modernization will be followed by the transformation of the original Praha-Bubny station building into a memorial site with a permanent exhibition commemorating the deportation of Jews under the Protectorate. The Monument of Silence project is in the stage of preparing documents for construction contractors.
The project to modernize the railways from Prague to Kladno with the connection to Václav Havel Airport is divided into more than ten buildings. Between 2017 and 2020, the Negrelli viaduct was reconstructed, and last year the reconstruction of the line between Kladno and Kladno-Ostrovec stations began. This year, the Railway Administration plans to announce tenders for the construction of Prague-Ruzyně – Kladno and the modernization of the Prague Masarykovo nádraží station. This should be followed by work in the section Prague-Ruzyně – Prague Václav Havel Airport and on the new construction of the station directly at the airport. From 2025, the reconstruction of three sections between the new Praha-Výstaviště stop and the Praha-Ruzyně station is planned.
