Five thefts in hotels and banks in Florence, two women arrested
Last summer, Florence was the scene of a series of thefts carried out above all in hotels between the center and other areas of the city.
The shots, at least five, according to what was reconstructed by the investigators of via Zara, some consumed and others attempted, would have occurred between 5 and 23 September, 3 even on the same day and more precisely on 10.
The police investigations quickly led to the investigation of two Florentine women aged 42 and 44, accused in various capacities, the younger even separately, in the context of these crimes.
This morning the Flying Squad carried out a precautionary custody order against them in prison issued by the GIP of the Court of Florence at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Tuscan capital.
Two of the episodes reported in the investigating judge’s order would be contested exclusively by the 42-year-old, who, moreover, was already in Sollicciano today, where she ended up in October, awaiting trial, after being arrested by the same agents for having gone shopping using the ” contactless” of a stolen ATM.
Specifically, it would be a question of the theft of a notebook taken away on 5 September from a room used as a warehouse in a hotel in the center and that of a wallet taken dexterously on 23 September from a bank office.
Based on what emerged, the same protagonist of this last act allegedly used the victim’s credit cards immediately afterwards, swiping them on at least three occasions in a bar near Piazza della Repubblica, each time without ever exceeding the spending limit for the which PIN is required.
At the end of the investigations by the Flying Squad, both are currently being investigated together for three other episodes, all of which took place in series on 10 September.
In the first instance, the two women would have attempted to grab a bag from an employee locker room of a hotel in the Cure area. Their intentions would have been thwarted by a housekeeper who would have always surprised the 42-year-old at work. She, the latter, would then have fled, jumping on the saddle of the scooter of her accomplice who was waiting for her on the street.
Shortly after it would have been the turn of a hotel in the Fortezza da Basso area where this time the “usual unknown” would have been dissuaded from taking something from a luggage kept in a locker room by a receptionist who in response, however, was seen arriving on her face a strong slap. Also in this case, as in the Cure, the same script would have been staged with an identical escape on two wheels.
After two failed attempts, the couple finally returned once again to the assault on a hotel in the Piazza Salvemini area, this time managing to take away a tablet. In this case the loot would have been stolen from a suitcase placed in the structure’s luggage room.
In the following days, the Hawks of the Flying Squad went through every single frame of the always efficient public but also private video surveillance systems under the magnifying glass, also managing to identify the scooter in use by the 44-year-old, on which the suspects should be moved. now both in Sollicciano.
