Design like a collage. Polish illustrator created something beautiful! – House Straight
What counts in sculpture is spatial imagination, form, shape and structure of the material. Painting to color, the art of combining shades, seeing the play of light, admiration. And good design, like a collage, combines both of these areas and turns them into useful works of art. This synergy is perfectly reflected in the illustrations by Anna Glik, commissioned by the Home Concept interior gallery as part of a new image campaign.
Creative Backstage
Art represents solace just like a well-arranged interior. That is why Anna Glik’s illustrative works can be seen in the most sophisticated locations. She created collages for children, the French fashion house Hermès, five-star Hilton hotels, Vogue and Elle magazines, designer Barbara Bui, and her animations graced Paprocki Brzozowski fashion shows.
Her works captivate the multiplicity of cultural references. She is inspired by man and the world around him, architecture, nature, fashion, everyday life. – I am constantly amazed by the paper, its texture, the possibility of combining it with each other in such a way, to arrange different stories. I also like to use perspective and scaling. Thanks to this, I can apply three-dimensionality and a surreal mood to my work, says the artist.
Preparing to create collages for Home Concept, he started by browsing archival exhibitions and installations at MoMa. She followed the Italian design fair, paying attention not only to what is shown, but also how it is perceived. During the very process of conducting it, however, I am guided by all those who are creators, intuition and experience.
Blue birds and chestnut trees
Where did the idea for cooperation between Anna Grabik and Home Concept come from? An artist distinguished by the inclusion of beauty and design in everyday life. He does it with art. – If we do not only look at the interior, but start to perceive it as a space that we can create with an original idea and freedom, then arranging a space to create a creative illusion is a creative process – says illustrator Anna Glik.
– Joint contribution to the creation of a jigsaw puzzle site in this theme, i.e. a house symbolizing the comprehensiveness of Home Concept’s offers. This is how the main collage was created, opening all attention. In the works, we look inside the house, discovering the channels: bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room – says the artist.
My home, my inspirations
A series of drug collages by Anna Glik is a series of stories “My home, my inspirations”. As part of cooperation with the interior gallery, five collages invite you to the world of interiors and design. Freedom of choice of image woven into the artist’s collages blue birds. – Each of us has our own unique style, universal beauty does not exist. If we do not stick to the rules, trends, we are not afraid of experimenting, interior design becomes art, says the artist. In her collages, typical interior elements are intertwined with miniature shapes, figures of bugs and botanical motifs.
The colors of the works reflect the elegance of the current interior design trends prevailing on the market. The collage has nothing to do with a catalog or typical architectural image, just like design is the art of characteristic, unconventional combinations. – thanks to moodboards hanging in interior design studios, which literally translates to “mood boards”, on which projects they compare all concepts and inspirations, verify their imaginations and visualize expectations – says the author of the works. Anna Glik gave these workshop, utilitarian works an artistic form. Her collages show the creative process, attract attention, stimulate the imagination, engage all the senses, create creative combinations.
